Office File Improvements

We have improved the conversion of Office data to other vector and raster formats. With this release of the product, clients will see improved conversion accuracy and support for Microsoft Office 2013 XML based files.

Conversion to SVG

File formats that start out as vector in nature, PDF, CAD, Word, PowerPoint, and Excel can now be converted to SVG. SVG content is supported by most modern web browsers: Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, Chrome, and Safari. SVG is one of several ways to represent static document content in an HTML5 application.

EML Support for E-mail Messages

This release introduces support for the EML format, which is used to save e-mail messages by several applications including Microsoft Outlook, Apple Mail, and Mozilla Thunderbird. Support for this format includes support for the associated image and document file attachments. 

New Web Samples

Prizm Document Converter now provides ASP.NET, JSP, and PHP samples for file conversion.

Updated Licensing System

With the release of Prizm Document Converter v7.0, the product licensing has been improved to provide the product with greater flexibility. These updates allow us to minimize the number of product packages required in order to distribute all of the product functionality.

As part of these updates, a new licensing tool has been created to help users obtain licensing for their system. The Prizm Licensing Utility is a Java application that communicates with the Accusoft licensing services to obtain a license for a specific system. The new licensing process is able to create a license key on demand 24/7.

The licensing changes not only affect how you obtain a license, but also how the product works with a license. This change allows Accusoft to provide its clients with more flexibility when licensing the product. Clients are now able to get the features they need without the need to change the version of the product they have installed. Simply license the features you need, and the server takes care of the rest.

Redesigned Product Documentation

Reworked for readability, navigation, and accuracy, the Prizm Document Converter documentation has been rebuild from the ground up.

• Content Separation - The tutorial based content is now located in a “How To” section, not sprinkled throughout the document. The API definition for the Server is in the API section, and the different properties, methods, and events are complete.
• Navigable - The documentation is now distributed in an HTML format, allowing users to quickly and easily navigate the content of the documentation.

Intelligent Installers

The product distribution has been improved to simplify the installation and configuration process. The Windows and Linux process are still very different. Ease of installation was a common goal for each platform.

• Linux Improvements: Prizm Document Converter provides Package Installers for several common Linux Environments. The new packages are designed to ensure that all requirements are available on the system in order for Prizm Document Converter to operate.
  • Less Room for Error: The Linux Packaging process eliminates many of the common errors that were reported when installing and configuring Prizm Document Converter.
  • Quick and Easy: The need to define, find, and install all of the components and packages that Prizm Document Converter relies upon has been removed. The new Packages know what is needed and where to find it, greatly simplifying installation and distribution.
• Windows Improvements:
  • Installed and Operational: The product installer assists you with configuring the Prizm service and product samples with IIS. After the installation process is complete, the samples that ship with the product are operational.
